 Day 20 of construction started frosty and clear, and despite a predicted rain and wind storm, this happened:

This is the trench for the underground electric lines.  I'm so excited - no more wires hanging across my mom's front yard!  The electric lines will come from the pole at the big barn to my part of the house, and from there feed into the existing house and new addition.  We didn't expect the digging to go so easily given that the front yard is mostly ledge, but apparently over the years most of the rock around here has "rotted" and is not as formidable as it once was.

Right now we are experiencing 40 mph wind gusts and torrential downpours, so it's not so much an electric trench as it is a moat. It will be interesting to see what it looks like in the morning.
